Positive Psychology

What is Positive Psychology?

First of all: Positive psychology is not “happyology”. And not to be confused with positive thinking, which has spread primarily through motivational trainers and guides and has no scientific basis.

Positive psychology is an independent field of academic psychology. While research previously focused primarily on negative emotions, positive psychology addresses the question of what makes life worth living.

The goal is to help people find fulfillment and meaning in life. Positive psychology helps them recognize and use their strengths, experience positive feelings and contribute to a positive society. It's not about simply ignoring the negative things in life. Rather, the negative is placed in a new framework in order to enable a happy, fulfilled life even under adverse circumstances. At the same time, the good and beautiful that exists in every life is brought into focus.

The scientifically supported tools of positive psychology promote well-being and happiness, expand one's own resources and contribute to a successful life. In organizations, they promote innovation and creativity and open up new areas for action and development.

What is luck?

We define happiness as the experience of joy, satisfaction and well-being, combined with the feeling that life is good, meaningful and worth living.

In addition to temporary positive emotions, happiness includes a deeper sense of meaning and meaning in life. It's not enough to strive for short-term happiness. Only experiencing joy and meaning at the same time creates true happiness.
